Azimuth Planning was founded by Jonathon Carle, an expert infrastructure funding and delivery specialist with over 25 years of experience across local government, State government and the private sector.

Jonathon founded InfraDev Planning with a clear purpose: to help deliver the infrastructure that supports growth, strengthens communities, and improves people’s lives.

Jonathon’s career includes senior roles at the City of Sydney, Office of the Lord Mayor, City of Parramatta, the NSW Department of Planning, the former NSW Growth Centres Commission, and consulting projects across Australia and South-East Asia while based in Singapore.

Jonathon combines technical rigour with a collaborative, practical approach. He works with councils, government agencies and developers to prepare infrastructure plans that are strategic, practical, integrated and user friendly. His expertise spans infrastructure delivery plans and strategies, local infrastructure contributions, affordable housing schemes, planning agreements, policy development and training.

Holding formal qualifications in planning, engineering and policy studies, Jonathon brings a unique multidisciplinary perspective to every project. He also serves as a Board Member of Street Library Australia and is a former NSW Committee Member of the Australian Institute of Urban Studies (AIUS)—reflecting his ongoing commitment to community and professional leadership.
